This is really quite simple...

Look, this is really quite simple.

If someone asks you why you're continuing a campaign that virtually the entire planet has said is over, or really even if that were not the case, you do not say the word "assassination" in your response.  Period.

I don't care what the context was.  I don't care what she meant to say.  It was either downright stupid or downright disgusting.  You do NOT invoke an "assassination" as your reason for staying in the race.

That is all.

Just don't know what else to say... I'm just amazed that somehow people think this is just outrage over nothing.

I don't think she intended it to be negative, but then that falls into the "downright stupid" category and she needs to recognize that and apologize for it.  Her "regrets" comment didn't really recognize that, and that's even more unfortunate.

When was the last time you asked yourself (none / 0)

Do I really want Hillary Clinton to be my president?

Is this the person I want representing me to the world?

We shall overcome. Yes we can.

ntended it to be negative. (none / 0)

She didn't sound negative, but pragmatic - could you imagine her disappointment if she were to suspend or concede only to have the uhhh- you know - the thing happen? Now that could present a real bitter situation.

If she shared suspended status with Edwards and others, then she wouldn't be ideally positioned to come to the rescue of America if an unforeseeable tragedy were to tragically and unsuspectedly occur.

She just wants to be prepared, is all.

And Who Made You God (2.00 / 1)

sometimes "common sense" isn't very common -- this race is not over - and the ones who think it is are the ones who will look the most foolish at the end -

Re: And Who Made You God (none / 0)

Whether or not I believe it or you believe it is irrelevant, as I explain in the diary.  The race has been considered over, and even if it were actually a close race with the likely victor still unknown, the comment was still beyond inappropriate.

Y'know, I've never really seen you add anything to the discourse around here other than ad hominem attacks and rabid invective. Makes you a perfect candidate for my troll list! I'm sure you're proud.

I'm glad you're proud for your candidate. Perhaps you could be proud of the image you're projecting of her supporters, then.

Re: This is really quite simple... (none / 0)

So, you really believe there was absolutely nothing wrong with, when asked why you continue on in the race, to say that someone was assassinated in June?  Seriously, that's appropriate commentary?  You don't think that's, at the very least, a ridiculously stupid thing to say?

Re: This is really quite simple... (none / 0)

You act like you're expecting a reasonable response from the MYDD crowd, Leshrac...not a regular here, huh? The excuses for racism and racist political ploys are endless here, dressed up as respect for the salt-of-the-earth common folk, tradition, etc. It's ugly shit, and you're wasting your time trying to talk to these kooks.  Meanwhile, outside the walls of this nuthouse, the Obama campaign rolls on, vetting for a VP is happening (maybe a decent progressive woman to reignite some excitement and pride in people who have desperately been looking for that in HRC?).  Let's scale the walls and get the fuck out of this zoo....

Re: This is really quite simple... (none / 0)

But first, we should drive them batshit crazy until they're attacking each other or go back to the Clinton campaign...or PowerLine...or both.

And while MyDD is an absurd hall of mirrors, visit hillaryis44 or Taylor Marsh for a real shot of stupid:

"What a device this Obama can be assasinated bullshit is. I resent it. Martin Luther King faced off with white bigots constantly, the Kennedy's Irish heritage stirs visions of it's revolution, so what is there in Obama? Did something happen in Kenya?"

"Hill@ry 2@@8 Hill@ry 2@@8 Hill@ry 2@@8
Ob@m@ S@n Quentin 2009"

"What is the rush is what Hillary was saying.... No one knows what tomorrow will bring. BO could be walking down the capital step, trip over his ears and break his neck!"

"oh gosh i am so outraged someone help me with my limp wrist"

This goes on and on, with the ocassional homophobic or racist insult thrown in for good measure. This shit is hilarious.
