While O's on Vacation, McCain Can Execute a GAME CHANGER.

That's right, while Obama's relaxing in Hawaii, McCain's advisors could steal the biggest hail mary from Mark Penn's playbook: the GAME CHANGER.

Here's how he'd implement it--

  1. Stay on message: pick another fight with Paris Hilton; try again to draw Brittany Spears into the fray.
  2. Bolster Maverickness with VP announcement: shock the conventional wisdom and dazzle the press by recruiting Phil Gramm to be on the ticket.
  3. Showcase bipartisan credentials: misspeak about Iraq, drawing more cross-party ear nibbles from Joe Leiberman.
  4. Steer the straight-talk express on track with another shake-up: it has been weeks since the last advisor shuffle--one's way overdue.
  5. Keep the gravy train flowing: build on growing ties to shady bundlers.
  6. Highlight accessibility: work the "pimp my wife" shtick a little more--see if it can be leveraged for fundraising.
  7. Create more "optics" for the electorate: find President Bush, grab him with a love-filled hug and bury nose into his armpit.
  8. Expand energy policy: call for more oil exploration...on mars
  9. Continue to undermine opponent's positions: taunt his tax breaks for the middle class, scold his tax increases for the rich and reiterate own commitment to solving domestic problems...in Iraq.

By the time Obama returns from Hawaii, refreshed and ready to take the election bull by the horns, he won't even know what hit him.

That's just much too much. (2.00 / 3)

I do not want to picture John McCain getting "ear nibbles" from Joe Lieberman.  I curse you for putting such an image in my head.  Aaugh.

John McCain's pick-up line is, 'Did you know that 150 is the new 130?'"

Re: While O's on Vacation (2.00 / 1)

You forgot one thing -- the Olympics. There will be a news blackout for the next two weeks (which is why Obama is recharging his batteries now).

Obama's going to come back rested and refreshed and ready to kick some McButt.

Hehe. (2.00 / 1)

I think at this point, the only game changer McCain could pull would be if he was revealed to be wearing dentures after they fell out while trying to smile at one of his town halls.

He Should Debate Paris Hilton (2.00 / 3)

McCain needs revenge for his loss to Paris Hilton in the first debate.

I think we should drill here and drill now.  Right here in this diary.

Re: While O's on Vacation (none / 0)

He could keel over dead.  That would make the news for a couple of cycles.

The campaign's long range plans would take a hit, however...

Re: While O's on Vacation, McCain Can Execute a GA (none / 0)

I anticipate a Clinton VP.

Because of that I feel the need to offer advice.

If you make McCain a joke and then lose you hurt the party TERRIBLY.

Ridicule the plans
Ridicule the arguemnts
Ridicule the McCain supporter's arguments
Ridicule the GOP basic beliefs

You can get 90-95% the mileage ridicule wise with the above.

But if you Ridicule the individual as a weak feeble minded old fart who can't think straight then you are faced by a massive indefensible failure on par with the Reagan 1980s if you lose.

Its a ~5 pts election and could at this stage go either way.  Don't start the victory parade.

Again setting low expectations and exceeding them is important everyday.
